CFSB Day 18
3 min warmup row of 2:00/500m pace, 20 s/m. Still looking for an efficient long pull. We also did some hamstring stretching and some drills to warmup up for the jerk. We worked on the split jerk, which was pretty new to me. The goal was to work up to a heavy single, but after hitting some form issues at 176lb (I used the kg plates by the platforms), I dropped back down to 132lb and worked on form. Made some good progress and got the bar moving quickly (AGGRESSIVE!) and was feeling ok by the end of it.
Today’s metcon was Death by Box Jumps: starting with one rep, complete +1 box jump every 30 sec until you cant keep up with the required reps. I finished 14 rounds + 8 jumps. Easy peasy until round 12 when things started to slow down. Also managed to bang the hell out of my left palm on the corner of the box TWICE, causing my hand to split wide open like a French kid’s lip. I’d done a few “death bys” before, but those always allowed for an entire minute for each set. 30 seconds makes it much tougher (and I spent less time twiddling my thumbs for the early sets).
