52 Card Throwdown
Frankie and I tried out Ross’s Deck of Cards workout for the first time today. We used the face value of the card for the number of reps (Ace is 11, face cards are 10) and used the following exercises:
- Hearts = Burpees (cause they get ya heart pumping)
- Diamonds = Diamond Pushups
- Spades = Body Rows
- Clubs = Chinnies
- Jokers = 10 Double Unders
Total time: 16:21. 96 total reps of each suit. We both agreed that the chinnies were too easy (will need to replace these with something more difficult next time — maybe v-ups?). I also thought that the jokers were too easy…since there are only 2 in the deck they should be a bit more fearsome, but I actually looked forward to them for a nice rest from being on the floor. Also worth noting: Frankie beat me by 10 seconds! This is the first time he’s beaten me in a timed workout (though I’m sure it won’t be the last). That’s really going to make me push myself harder now.
