6am class with coach DO. After some DROMs we warmed up with 3x: 20 KB swings (24kg), 8 reverse lunges, 6 chinups. Stretched out the hamstrings and got ready to deadlift.

We were supposed to work up to a heavy triple, but I didn’t even attempt anything further than 1 rep at 405 - just wasn’t feeling it. I should have been more conservative since this is the first exposure of a new cycle. On the positive side, David said my form’s looking aight. No more “halloween cat” back.
WOD: complete as many burpees in possible in 5 minutes.
Score: 81. I wanted 85, but I didn’t have the gas today. Used my patented strategy of 25/10/15/10/15/6. We had a quick jog around the block immediately following this, which was great and kept me from feeling too awful. 7 minutes of burpees is much, much worse than 5 min.
